Another gorgeous wedding, and another beautiful bride down the aisle! Stefanie & Jim's ceremony was held in Vermilion, and their reception was at Rosewood Place in Lorain. The color palette of ivory, pink & black was incorporated into everything from their Stargazer lily centerpieces to the personalized pink & ivory M&M favors, to the monogrammed aisle runner and everything in between.
The surprise of the night was a special groom's cake, a surprise from Stefanie to Jim. It was a two tiered Ohio State cake surrounded with candy buckeyes. The garter also incorporated a bit of Jim's love for Ohio State. As did their introduction into the reception, to the tune of Ohio State's fight song.
On a side note: Dina (mother of the bride) wore the most fabulous dress of the year! It perfectly matched the style and colors of the wedding....and she rocked it!!
Congrats to the newlyweds!

Congratulations Larissa & Richard
Larissa and Richard are an adorable young couple who tied the knot this weekend in Port Clinton at the beautiful Mon Ami Winery. Their ceremony was held in the wine cellar and the reception took place in the loft upstairs.
Larissa and Richard have a very interesting story! Dave from DNA Entertainment did a "Love Story" about how Larissa and Richard met; Larissa was here on an exchange program when she met Richard. They fell in love, but she had to return to Rio when her exchange was up. Richard missed her terribly and went to Brazil, proposed, and they maintained a long distance relationship until Larissa finally moved to the states this year.
Larissa's family came from Brazil to celebrate with them, and her father (a highly acclaimed musician in Brazil) actually played the processional music on his flute for the ceremony. Each table at the reception was named after a location in Brazil, and we included a photo and description of each place on the table. The favors (brought from Brazil by the family) were candies called "Bem Casado" and sandals called "Havaianas" for each person. All of the guests kicked off their shoes, put on the Havaianas, and danced to American and Brazilian music all night.
Richard surprised us all as he was introduced into the reception with his new wife....wearing a top hat, white gloves, and sporting a cane! It was priceless! The reception was decorated in gold and white, with small accents of yellow and green (Brazilian colors). We created gold rimmed menu cards for each place setting, table names with photos and descriptions, and wine cork escort cards to set up at the entry way.
I know this couple has many happy days ahead, and I feel so lucky that I got to be a part of their first day as husband and wife! Felicitações e cumprimentos!

Congratulations Emily & Kevin!
Emily and Kevin are a fun-loving couple who met at a bar in Lakewood. They had a lovely wedding in Avon this weekend, and I was lucky enough to be their coordinator! Spending the afternoon with the girls preparing for the ceremony was a blast...I don't think I've ever laughed so much before a ceremony!
The bouquets from Fresh Tendrils were gorgeous, especially the bride's bouquet of purple irises and lavender roses. It was stunning! Emily also had two dresses - which I love! She wore a traditional full skirted wedding dress with a train for the ceremony, and then she changed into a free flowing dancing gown for the reception!
To tie in their "love at first sight" meeting place, they named all the tables at their reception after Lakewood bars. Her color palette was dark purple and "spring like". It rained a bit through the afternoon, which put a damper on the outdoor photo ideas....but at least that means their marriage will be blessed with good luck!
Best wishes to Emily and Kevin as they begin their new life together!

Fascinators & Couture Veils
Making it's way onto the high style bridal scene are these gorgeous little hair accessories called fascinators. They are larger than a normal barette and embellished with feathers, crystals and tiny silk flowers. It's a very glamorous accessory to add to your wedding day attire!
Or, take it one step further and select a couture veil. It's essentially a fascinator with the addition of a small birdcage veil or other short veil. These have a very classic "Old Hollywood" feel!
The photos below are from Castle Brides. All Castle Bride couture veils are handmade by Kirstin Fox.

Bedazzled BonBons :: Bling!
What a great product! If you're looking for that sparkly bling factor to add to your party or event, this is IT! Chocolate bonbons covered in edible glitter (yes, I did say edible). You eat the entire ball...glitter and all! They come individually packaged as favors, or in multi-packs that are great for special occasion gifts.
The flavors are delicious; dark chocolate, extra dark chocolate, raspberry, hazelnut, peanut butter and mint! They come in just about every color you can think of, and you can mix and match colors for no additional charge. I'm having black and silver bonbons at my birthday party next month!

Have Your Wedding Gown Sketched!
I saw this company talked about in a recent issue of In Style Weddings magazine, and I have to jump on the bandwagon and agree that this is such a great idea!
You can send in 3 photos of you in your wedding gown, and this talented artist will create a sketch of it and send it to you! But don't stop at ordering the sketch....oh no! You can even order Thank You cards with the sketch of your dress on them.
I am going to dig out my photos to send in....I want my gown sketched!

Bride Inspired Table Covers
I was browsing through Sparkliatti today (Sasha Souza's blog that I freqent...absolutely LOVE Sasha and her fabulous ideas!) and these photos of table covers caught my eye. I'm always looking for something gorgeous and eye catching for the cocktail hour tables. Something special, something over the top, something to wow the guests right when they walk in. It sets a tone for the rest of the night, and these are just perfect for that!
We've layered the linens on high boys before, we've tied sashes at the middle of the post to create the martini glass look....but these cocktail table covers take the cake!

Congratulations Shelly & Roger
Shelly & Roger are an adorable couple I have been working with since September of 2007. They found me at a bridal show at the theatre in Norwalk and booked us shortly after. It's been a long planning road for this large event (300+ guests), and it all came together beautifully yesterday!
The colors of lavender and white accented the decor at both the church and reception hall. Candles lined the aisle and alter, plus every table at the reception. The ceremony was perfect, the bride was glowing and gorgeous, and everyone had a great time at the reception. Shelly & Roger left with smiles on their faces, and that's what it's all about! Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you a lifetime of smiles and happiness!
On a side note - I found out at the wedding that Shelly (the bride), is the aunt of Jeremy, who was a groomsman in MY wedding in '07... Such a small world here in northern Ohio!
