Barbie & Ken Get Married...

I shared this on Facebook a few days ago, but after thinking about it I decided it was totally blog worthy as well! This idea is beyond cute, and the photographs are absolutely amazing! Everything is like a real wedding; couple photos, photos of the dress and shoes, the ladies getting ready...genius idea! Check out Rock and Roll Bride to see the complete set of photos.

From the Photographer, Béatrice de Guigné: “Barbie & Ken were married at Faraway Castle, in Plasticity. The bride bought her dress from The Fairy Godmother shop and her shoes from the Cinderella Store. The groom wore a suit from The Prince Charming Emporium. The couple met more than 50 years ago (yes I know they look young). Barbie was tired of waiting so she asked Ken to get married.” Photography Credit: BdG Photography

Planning Tips :: 4 Common Questions to Ask Caterers

Every event needs amazing food! Depending on where you have your event, you might need to do some research on caterers in the area. Some venues provide their own caterers, while some venues require you to bring in an outside catering company. Either way, it's very important to get all the information you need before making a decision and signing on the dotted line! Landerhaven Executive Caterers suggests asking the following questions before hiring the caterer for your event:

1. How Much Will it Cost?
The cost of the catering service will vary from caterer to caterer, so make sure you do your research and get several quotes. In order to get the most precise answer, you’ll need to figure out what kind of catering service you need. Do you plan to have a sit-down dinner, serve hors d’oeuvre, or host a buffet-style meal? The answer to this question will determine the cost of the catering service.

2. What Food Can You Make?
If you plan to invite quests who have special food requirements, then you’ll need to ask whether your potential caterer can accommodate their food allergies or other special needs. If you’re hosting a unique cultural event, you’ll want to ask whether the potential caterer has experience cooking the foods you hope to serve.

3. What is Included in the Catering Service?
It is also important to ask what is included in the catering service. For example, you should ask whether the caterer will provide dishes, serving utensils, flatware, china, glassware, napkins, table décor, and other necessities.

4. Can I Taste the Food?
Just as you wouldn’t buy a car without taking it for a test drive first, you should ask to test the food before you decide on a catering service.

Welcome Our New Intern, Liz!

Welcome Liz to our team!

We actually met Liz at one of our weddings earlier this year. She was the Maid of Honor and had done some amazing DIY projects that really caught our eye! She attended (and works at) Kent State, likes snowboarding and running, and serves on the committee for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Cuyahoga Falls. Welcome aboard Liz! We're so excited to work with you!

This is the escort card display she made for the wedding back in May. It is an engagement photo of the couple, blown up to poster size and cut into squares. Each square around the couple had names on the front and table numbers on the back, and each square was attached to the board with double sided tape (like a puzzle!). When the names had all been picked up buy the guests, just the faces of the couple remained on the board. I LOVED this idea so much, and she did such a great job creating it!
